The City of Justin operates a Back flow Prevention Program as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The purpose of the program is to protect the integrity of the city water distribution system, as well the health and well-being of the people who use it.
The state and federal requirements are designed to reduce the possibility of contaminants entering into public water system through actual or potential cross connections. A cross connection is any actual or potential connection between the public water supply and a source of contamination or pollution.
Through these cross connection potentially hazardous contaminants can enter the public water supply. To protect from this potentially dangerous situation the City of Justin requires that a back flow prevention assembly be installed anywhere an actual or potential hazard may occur. By following the requirements of the back flow prevention program we can keep our water safe, and clean.
